Cyberpunk 2077 may confuse up a a couple of glitches from clock to time, only it's hard to refuse that it's a pretty game. Especially if you've got the hardware to turn those ray tracing pretties on. An adventuresome drug user, andwhat112 all over at NexusMods (via Tom's Hardware), has determined some unseeable switches that go beyond what the spirited's interface normally offers, including something called Cinematic RTX.

Turning this on apparently improves level of detail settings, lighting, and ambient block at the cost of 2GB more VRAM employment compared to the highest in-bet on settings. We were hard pushed to spot any difference, but your mileage may vary.

The skilled news is that you don't need to download anything, or brawl some hex editing to access this mount, you merely want to create a cutoff to the game and add a switch that will switch its behaviour at load time.

If you'atomic number 75 running the Steam version, you simply have to right-fall into place the game, select properties, and under launch options, add -qualityLevel=Cinematic_RTX.

If you bought the game directly from GOG, then by default, the Cyberpunk2077.exe can be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyberpunk2077\bin\x64\ directory. Make your way there, right-click it and select "Create Shortcut" from the drop-down list. Right-click this crosscut and select Properties from the pearl-kill list and tot up the following to the Target box later on what's already there:

-qualityLevel=Cinematic_RTX

Bump off 'Ok' to save the changes and and then found the game from this shortcut and you should find you stimulate all the pretties. Launching the game from the formula GOG launcher if you just want your normal settings, or you fire alteration the CInematic_RTX bit to represent one of the following alternatively:

  • Low
  • Medium
  • High
  • Ultra
  • RTXMedium
  • RTXUltra
  • Cinematic
  • CinematicEXR
  • CinematixEXR_RTX
  • SafeMode
  • Console table
  • ConsolePro
  • ConsoleEarlyNextGen
  • ConsoleEarlyNextGenQuality
  • GeForceNow
  • IconsGeneration
  • Auto

Some of them put on't seem to mold at all, such as the next-gen console options, but the normal settings seem to wreak just nongranular. Setting it SafeMode is potentially useful because if anything goes criminal, this should amaze you up and running again.

I've tried to ut some relation shots using the two modes, although the dynamic world (characters are ever moving, the player's view is constantly shift, adverts change every time you lade the game, etc.) makes comparing settings tricky. Even loading the same salve point and non affecting the mouse at all appears to produce a frustratingly different viewing angle.

As I tell, it ISN't obvious what Cinematic_RTX offers complete the in-game Psycho RTX setting, which is what I've old for comparison here, but there may equal locations where IT could take the already beautiful visuals up to the following level.

Update: Present's a scene using the Cinematic_RTX and Ultra RTX settings shown in Juxtapose. The differences don't exactly leap out even here, but there are some subtle variations—deal the grass at the bottom of the prospect, and the contrast seems better in the Cinematic_RTX try too.

Information technology's worthy noting there's no obvious performance divergence between the two modes either, at least not for this scene.

Alan has been committal to writing about PC tech since before 3D graphics cards existed, and still vividly recalls having to fight with Microsoft disk operating system just to get games to load. Atomic number 2 fondly remembers the slayer combo of a Matrox Millenium and 3dfx Voodoo, and sighted Lara Croft in 3D first. He's very glad hardware has advanced every bit much as it has though, and is particularly blessed when putting the latest M.2 NVMe SSDs, AMD processors, and laptops through their paces. He has a long-lasting Magic: The Gather compulsion but limits this to MTG Arena these days.
